At the meeting, Phil Nelson reported that a new Fixpack (9a) was due to be released for DB2 UDB V8. Since then Ian Phillips from IBM has kindly provided the following important information for DB2 UDB Users:

Alert on DB2 Universal Database Security Vulnerability
Some DB2 Universal Database for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 8 (DB2 UDB) products contain a security vulnerability. The vulnerable DB2 UDB Version 8.1 products are at service levels starting with 8.1.4 through 8.1.9 (inclusively). The vulnerable DB2 UDB Version 8.2 products are at service levels starting with 8.2.0 through 8.2.2 (inclusively). To close the vulnerability, the DB2 UDB service organization is releasing updated FixPaks for DB2 UDB Version 8 products. The following FixPaks are being made available on the DB2 UDB Service and Support web site www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/udb/support/:
FixPak 6c for DB2 UDB v8.1
FixPak 7b for DB2 UDB v8.1 and 8.2
FixPak 8a for DB2 UDB v8.1 and 8.2
FixPak 9a for DB2 UDB v8.1 and 8.2
